MEET THE FAMILY

We have 4 generations living & working on the farm, with our family history dating back to our Great, Great, Grandfather, who came to the village in the 1800’s.

Brothers Neil and Brian run the farm and recently made the decision to diversify in order to ensure a sustainable farming business for their family for future generations.

On the farm you will find Neil and his wife Bridget, Brian and his wife Kath, each of their sons and daughter, granddaughter Chloe, the cats – Coco, Billy and Ed, as well as our trusted Border Collies – Jim, Taff, Meg and Tess! … all of which you are likely to see in and around the site during your stay with us :)

THE FARM

Our farm is located in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, a small dales village approximately 7 miles from the market town of Settle, at the foot of Pen-y Ghent in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Dating back to the 1600’s, Town Head/ Douk Ghyll Farm is a traditional, family-run livestock farm, that now consists of mainly pure bred Dalesbred sheep, where we lamb approx. 800 ewes every April.

We are situated right in the middle of the village for easy access to all walking routes and cycling routes, local attractions, nearby towns and of course, the local pubs in the village!

RIBBLESDALE PODS

With the farm boasting stunning views of Pen-y-Ghent and the valley of Ribblesdale, we have always realised this place was very special, somewhere other people might want to stay too…

The decision was made to combine our passion for farming and love of the countryside, and create something very unique to Ribblesdale, so you too could wake up to the views of the hills, that we feel blessed to wake up to every morning.

After months of planning, the carefully selected mega-pods arrived and a new kind of glamping experience was born. Welcome to Ribblesdale Pods.

SEE YOU SOON

You will, from time to time, experience the usual countryside noises; bleating sheep, the early dawn chorus and the odd tractors working in the surrounding fields…

…but that is what makes the experience all the more real. If you are planning on visiting us in April, you will also be lucky enough to see all of the new born lambs in the fields around you.

We look forward to welcoming you, your family and friends and ensuring your stay with us is one where memories are made!
